CDs for Children and Teens

The following issues presented by children are very effectively reversed or greatly minimized using hypnotherapy. To order any of the CDs, enter the quantity of each in the box next to the item number. When you are done selecting CDs, go to the Shopping Cart to confirm your order. The cost for each CD is $24.95. There is a $2.00 off savings for each additional CD you purchase when ordering three or more CDs as part of the same order.

1. Acne and other Skin Disorders (Psoriasis, Eczema, Scabies, Warts)

Stress and worry are the two major contributors for common skin disorders. Hypnotherapy teaches children how to naturally relax and release tension. The guided imagery program stimulates natural creativity to see the skin beginning to smooth itself and restore its natural quality.

2. Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD and AD/HD)

Hypnotherapy is presented as a natural inner- teaching tool allowing the mind to focus and concentrate while shading out sensory distractions. Best results are achieved when children listen to this 25 minute CD every evening just before bedtime.

3. Asthma

The intentional focus on rhythmic deep breathing as children listen to a trance enforcing story about being in control in a scary place creates an internal message of calmness affecting both the lungs and the mind’s need to overcome stress.

4. Bedwetting

Typically the result of a combination of mild anxiety, deep sleep cycling and a reinforced fear of not being in control. Children learn how to cue themselves to the neurological signal sent by the bladder prior to release even in a sleep state. As they gain confidence in mastering the self-awareness they become more focused on positive expectation which quickly becomes generalized to other aspects of their lives.

5. Bug Phobia

Children learn to be afraid of bugs through their own bad experiences or by watching others react and assuming the fear is normal. Through hypnotherapy they learn how to go back to a time when there was no fear and by interjecting a fun play activity in place of the negative event the bug reaction becomes neutralized.

6. Bicycle Riding Fear

The fear of falling and getting hurt only exists until the child masters the ability to balance. The very first time success is realized confidence naturally begins to emerge. Through hypnotherapy children intuitively see themselves riding and having fun. A positive expectation is created as a mastery issue becoming very powerful along with the anticipation of success.

7. Confidence Building

This generic issue is very open to a special story-telling hypnotherapy experience involving the development of mastering specific and broad goals. Learning to make wise decisions, free of self-doubt and second guessing, becomes a subconscious challenge along the path to self-discovery.

8. Dentist and Doctor Fears

Similar to other fears and phobias children learn this either through their own experiences or watching others. While in trance they experience a positive healing reaction by making friends with their dentist or doctor through a story of blended metaphors.

9. Fingernail Biting

The combination of unconscious habit, mild anxiety and the need to feel in control are powerful reinforcers. Again, the subconscious part of the mind is accessed to allow the acceptance of a healthy habit to replace the nail and cuticle biting. Suggestions utilizing Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) create instant conscious awareness of the hand moving to the face and an alternative message relaxes the hand. The image of seeing healthy looking nails and cuticles is reinforced and the old habit is successfully replaced.

10. Grief From the Loss of Family Members, Friends and Pets

Children have a very different perspective of death than adults. Because their world is often black and white, understanding the abstraction of death is often confusing and fear producing. The maturity needed to understand the life cycle is beyond young children. Through hypnotherapy they learn how to say good-bye as they focus on good memories to replace the fear of never seeing that person or pet again.

11. Healthy Eating Habits

Children’s taste buds are in a constant state of development throughout adolescence. What is not liked at one age may become a favorite later on. We know the sense of taste is very suggestable which is why post-hypnotic suggestions can be extremely effective in creating positive reactions to healthy foods. The expectation of tasting something sweet can actually make vegtables and fruits more desired than foods high in carbs.

12. Moving Adjustment

Children need to feel secure in their environment. The anticipation of moving often evokes worry and fear. Even the most caring logical presentation of why the move is necessary will not change the insecure reaction. Hypnotherapy can focus children on their own inner-security so the move becomes the anticipation of a journey or challenge.

13. Needle and Shot Fear

Unlike the fear of dentists and doctors this anxiety reaction is specific and connected to the expectation of pain. The key to eliminating this reaction is to divert the mind to a physically pleasing experience and then to magnify it at the precise moment of the injection. Through hypnotherapy, children practice creating an instant triggering of pleasure until they are so confident they know they are ready for the shot. It’s a great tool for general confidence building as well.

14. Nightmares

Scary dreams unsettle children and adults alike. For children the key is creating a belief system prior to going to sleep which places lots of control on their ability to maintain their minds in a relaxed manner so the nightmares do not occur or are totally suppressed with no conscious awareness as they happen. This type of preventative post-hypnotic suggestion is effective for dreaming, as well as releasing stress prior to going to sleep.

15. Performing Arts Improvement

Post-hypnotic suggestions are very effective for children involved in theater, music, singing and dance. Performance anxiety is based on an unconscious expectation of failure which triggers fear reactions and creates short-term memory loss, reduced muscle coordination, nervous tension and distracting negative messages. Children learn to put themselves into self-hypnosis to access messages of positive belief, confidence, mastery, and full memory retrieval including desired body movement and effective breathing.

16. Self-esteem Improvement

Building a healthy self-esteem incorporates many different aspects like confidence, self-belief, success, mastery, positive expectations – eliminating several bad habits like procrastination, negative self-talk, poor impulse control and using bad judgment. Teaching children to use self-hypnosis allows them to experience themselves being in control and focusing on positive outcomes. The proof of doing it establishes the basis for good self-esteem.

17. Shyness

We are all born with an intuitive understanding of feeling safe being around certain people and uncomfortable with others. Sometimes young children override the natural understanding because of unintended parental or sibling influence. Hypnotherapy teaches children how to imagine themselves interacting freely with people, feeling calm and in control.

  18. Social Fears or Inhibition

Similar to shyness only more intense and often the result of scary events or negative learning experiences. When the belief is maintained over time there is social withdrawal and severe isolation rather than the normal childhood experience of developing peer friendships. Hypnotherapy teaches children to bypass the negative learning, establishing an increasing expectation of confidence and positive outcomes to social interactions.

19. Sports Performance

This is particularly effective for baseball, soccer, martial arts, volleyball, swimming, diving, gymnastics, tumbling, cheerleading, tennis and golf. By focusing the subconscious part of the mind on positive visualization while removing expectations of failure, getting hurt and negative self-talk -- deep inner-concentration and relaxation becomes a powerfully learned technique. Kids refer to the experience as “zoning out”.

20. Study Habits

Hypnotherapy is used to focus the subconscious part of the mind on the desire to experience a fun activity immediately following effective study time. The desired effect is to create a positive habit of using successful study habits. I will usually couple this work with eliminating test taking anxiety. The positive result will diminish the expectation of a fun activity until the expectation is replaced by the reward of academic success.

21. Swimming/Drowning Phobia

The fear of drowning can be the result of a real or imagined event. Hypnotherapy relieves the panic reaction, creates the sensation of lightness and limb coordination while establishing the control and confidence to accomplish the goal of swimming and experience the pride and joy of success.

22. Test Taking Anxiety

Worry of not doing well, pressure to perform, fear of not comparing well to peers or not gaining acceptance into desired colleges all combine to create a powerful negative expectation. Hypnotherapy restores the mind to a belief of mastery, competence and success. Guided imagery within the context of relaxed concentration optimizes memory retrieval and a positive belief.

23. Workout / Exercise Commitment

Sometimes having the desire and best of intentions is not enough to sustain a committed plan for getting in shape. Activating the subconscious mind to create a new habit of healthy movement and daily working out becomes the goal. Listen to the CD every day until the new habit becomes a routine.
